Creative Ways

Creative art as a guide for life

After School Art Classes for 5-9 Year Olds
Classes Begin October 5th, 2010 -- Registration is Open!

MULTI-MEDIA ART EXPLORATIONS!!!
Tuesdays from 4-5 PM

Our classes will be filled with multicultural art explorations using a variety of media….clay, wood, plaster, papier-mâché and found objects! Projects will be process-oriented, taking a few weeks to complete. We plan to introduce your children to the basic skills of drawing and painting and encourage our older children to experiment with technique!

Creative art gives children the opportunity to have fun and gain confidence by producing something original and beautiful!!!  They hone problem-solving and compromising skills as they discover that in art -- as in life -- there’s usually more ways than one to solve a problem.  Perhaps most importantly, making art helps children to express and define their individuality, guiding them on a path that leads to a strong spirit and a happy heart!!!

Our wonderful “artist in residence” and on-site director,  Emily Gosweiler, is a multimedia artist trained in the “art” of teaching art to kids. A Purchase College Art Major/Graduate, Emily comes to our community with a constellation of “out of the box” ideas!  Emily and her wonderful helpers make magic happen in her classroom as they promote creativity, respect and cooperation.
